About
Anthony Plascencia is a career videographer, documentarian
and artist. His interest in documentary work developed while working
as a news reporter. He currently works as a multimedia
and video producer for the Ventura County Star, based in Camarillo,
California. In addition to hands-on production work, he also leads
the company's multimedia training program, teaching traditional
print journalists how to use the tools of today to make the transition
to the journalism of tomorrow.
In addition to his work in news, he is also a frequent
guest speaker at colleges, universities and seminars, offering commentary
and guidance on the future of news video and the new age of multimedia
storytelling. His audiences range from aspiring videographers
to seasoned editors from news agencies worldwide.
Anthony is currently working on the documentary "Vargas,"
which follows the Quiroga and Marinelli families, a multi-generational clan of circus
performers who are struggling to rebuild interest in the business
that brought them love, international acclaim and financial success.
The film, which spans three years in the circus' journey, is scheduled to be released in the Summer of 2009.
Anthony is also a frequent contributor to Newsvideographer.com and Mediageeks.ning, offering critiques and insight into the art of digital storytelling.

web design, flash animation, photography and painting with oils
